Aussie music stars collaborate to release ‘a song about Australia for Australians’

John St Peeters and fellow renowned Australian artists Marty Rhone, Tommy Emmanuel, John ‘Swanee’ Swan and Ray Burgess are extremely proud to announce the release of their Aussie rock anthem ‘Legends of the Southern Land.’ Legends of the Southern Land is at radio now and is also available for purchase on iTunes and all digital outlets.

Written by John ‘Wonder World’ St Peeters and young Melbourne composer Michael Yule, Legends of the Southern Land is set to be the next big Aussie rock Anthem – one written to lift and unite Australians and celebrate this wonderful country and the extraordinary people that have made it what it is. Legends of the Southern Land has been a labour of love for St Peeters and his mates, who are passionate about Australia and all that it is and can be.

Legends is about every Australian who made this country great; from the sporting heroes to stars of the stage and screen; from the highest office in the land to the common man; from our first saint to great artists such as indigenous painter Albert Namatjira; from our wartime PM to our postie who delivers the mail along the Birdsville track. All have become legends of the southern land and contributed to this nation’s greatness.

The talented artists travelled to great geographical landmarks such as Uluru and other iconic locations around Australia to shoot a spectacular music video directed by Clint Windsor to accompany the song – a video to help focus the world’s attention on this great land to the south.

On the release John St Peeters says “Legends was a dream I had which became reality after I rang each of these great artists who have given their time and their talent to create something very special. I am so proud of our country and wanted to write something that can help build the morale of all Australians – something that can uplift and remind us of how lucky we are and the wonderful people and beauty that surrounds us. A song to celebrate all great Australians. I am so honoured to have Marty, Tommy, Swanee and Ray share my sentiment and passion and to have them collaborate on this project with me.”

Described as a pulsating and vibrant rock eulogy, Legends of the Southern Land has been a highlight of the careers of the 5 Aussie performers, who individually have had successful careers both here and on the international stage.
